The purpose of the Future Public Health Professionals (FPHP) student organization serves to increase awareness of public health issues in the community and on campus through various activities and through the dissemination of health information. FPHP assures that future public health professionals are informed and cognizant of current public health activities and issues. The rendering of public health services is a key tenet of this organization. The Future Public Health Professionals (FPHP) student organization has been very active as participants in local health-based public service initiatives. Both MPH and DrPH students are active in this student organization. In addition, several students have served as elected officers in the student sections of both the state public health organization (Florida Public Health Association) and the American Public Health Association. FPHP collaborates with local partners in sentinel public health events such as the celebration of National Public Health Week. Leadership in service is evident in the work of the student organization, locally and regionally distinguished for its commitment to community health improvement and empowerment.
